Triumph has unveiled the Tiger 1200 globally. It has received massive updates over the previous iteration, and now makes more power and weighs less.
The Triumph Tiger 1200 is powered by a new 1160cc inline-triple motor that dishes out 150PS and 130Nm. That’s 9PS and 8Nm more than the older model. Moreover, the Tiger 1200 also features a lighter and lower-maintenance shaft drive system. The uneven firing order is claimed to provide both low-end and top-end grunt to suit the Tiger’s off-roading and touring capabilities.
Overall, the Tiger 1200 now weighs 25kg less. It uses a 5.4kg lighter frame with a bolt-on subframe and the suspension hardware comprises a Showa semi-active suspension across all variants. Meanwhile, the braking hardware consists of a Brembo system.
As for the electronics suite, you get cornering traction control, ABS, six riding modes, a quickshifter, adaptive cornering lights, hill hold control, electronic cruise control and heated grips throughout the range. However, the Tiger 1200 GT Explorer and Rally Explorer also get heated seats, a Blind Spot Radar system (a first for Triumph) and Lane Change assist.
The Triumph Tiger 1200 is powered by an 1160 cc Liquid-cooled engine which produces power. It has a fuel tank of 30 L and a . The Triumph Tiger 1200 starts at Rs 19.19 and goes up to Rs 21.69 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is available in four variants.
