Ducati has finally launched its most hardcore bike, the DesertX in India. It looks gorgeous, is loaded with features & comes at an inviting price! More details in our launch story.
Its 937cc Testastretta L-twin mill makes 110PS & 92Nm. Underpinnings include a fully-adjustable 46mm Kayaba fork and monoshock with 230mm and 220mm of travel respectively. The 21/18-inch wheel setup has led to a vertigo-inducing 875mm seat height. Braking hardware consists of twin 320mm front discs and a 265mm rear disc.
The DesertX also comes loaded with a suite of electronic aids, including multi-level ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control, and a bi-directional quickshifter. Access to these electronics is carried out through a vertical five-inch TFT console, one that’s compatible with the Ducati Multimedia System to allow phone call/message alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.
Ducati has priced the DesertX at a rather impressive Rs 17.91 lakh (ex-showroom India). Along with the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, the Ducati DesertX also rivals the BMW F 850 GS and the Honda Africa Twin.
