The BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500 is available in two colours: Steel Grey and Leoncino Red. The former is priced at Rs 4,69,900 whereas the latter is pegged at Rs 4,79,900, both ex-showroom India. Bookings are open for a token amount of Rs 10,000.
There have been no feature updates to the Benelli Leoncino 500, except for the switchable dual-channel ABS. The bike continues to get an all-LED lighting system, full-LCD instrument cluster with gear position indicator, clock, and coolant temperature gauge, apart from the run-of-the-mill information.
The BS6 Leoncino 500 shares its 500cc inline twin-cylinder motor with the TRK 502 BS6. It makes 47.5PS at 8500rpm and 46Nm at 6000rpm. The motor works in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission. It gets no other electronic aids, apart from the dual-channel ABS.
The Benelli Leoncino 500 BS6 retains the same underpinnings as before. It packs a 50mm inverted front fork and a preload- and rebound-adjustable rear monoshock. Braking is courtesy the twin 320mm discs up front with radial calipers and a single 260mm disc at the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels shod with 120/70-section front and 160/60-section rear Pirelli Angel ST tyres.
The BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500 does not have a direct rival in its segment. It slots between the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 in the quarter-litre space and the Ducati Scrambler 800 in the big bike segment.
