The 790 Adventure draws power from a 799cc parallel-twin LC8 motor that puts out 95PS of power and 88Nm of peak torque — 9.5PS less and 1Nm more than the Duke. Peak torque, on the other hand, is available at 6,600rpm compared to Duke’s 8000rpm.
Electronic aids include four rider modes (Street, Off-road, Rain, and an optional Rally mode), lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, and switchable ABS.
The 790 Adventure employs a 43mm open cartridge WP fork and a preload-adjustable WP mono-shock with 200mm of suspension travel at both ends. Braking is managed by twin 320mm discs up front and a single 260mm rear disc at the rear. Its 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels come shod in dual-purpose tyres.
The KTM 790 Adventure’s production will soon be shifted to the company’s upcoming manufacturing facility in Hangzhou, China, which will become operational by June 2020. When launched, the KTM 790 Adventure will compete against the BMW F 750 GS, Triumph Tiger 800 XR, and the Ducati Multistrada 950.
